About TerraCycle

TerraCycle, located in Portland, Oregon USA, started out in 1996 making custom fitted, very dialed in recumbent bikes. Their bikes were legendary for their handling, build quality, and attention to detail. In order to get the performance they wanted in a number of the special parts recumbents require, they found they had to make things themselves. It wasn't long before people with other bikes started asking if they would make parts for their bikes. Before TerraCycle knew it, the parts side of the business completely outran the bicycle side of the business. TerraCycle now no longer makes complete bikes, and instead is focused on expanding and improving an ever growingline of parts and accessories.

TerraCycle uses a variety of processes to make their parts. Many things are CNC machined on one of their CNC vertical milling machines. Founder and owner Pat Franz likes the precision of CNC, and the freedom of being able to make nearly anything he can dream up. There is some lathe work, and a good amount of hand work as well, as there are some things you just can't do on a CNC. The anodizing and laser marking is done locally. Otherwise, everything is done in house. They have some products coming up that will use custom extrusions and molded plastic parts, again locally made.

We are delighted that the exquisitely made TerraCycle idlers, racks, stems, handlebars and fairings are now available at European bicycle shops and from our webshop. As the exclusive European TerraCycle distributor, we will be continuously expanding the TerraCycle product line that we carry so that we can offer more and more TerraCycle products for European trike and recumbents brands.

TerraCycle Products

TerraCycle makes all their products themselves. Founder Pat Franz believes that you can't expect things to have soul if you simply pay someone in a factory far away to crank them out for you. We at ICLETTA see it very much the same way. Maybe this is one of the reasons for our successful cooperation with TerraCycle. Everyone at TerraCycle wants all their parts, even the less expensive ones, to be more than just "very good". They want them to be exceptionally satisfying to own and to use, to have an essence of the people and dreams that made them. We think you will notice this from the moment you first hold one in your hand, and feel it even more strongly many years from now.
